Recently, Ameristar Casino Hotel Kansas City team members came out in force to work with furry friends at KC Pet Project. Volunteers spent the day at the Kansas City Campus for Animal Care, an animal shelter that is operated by KC Pet Project.

KC Pet Project is a nonprofit organization that cares for more than 15,000 animals a year in the Kansas City area. With the overall goal of increasing adoption of homeless pets in Kansas City, their mission of creating a compassionate and safe community for pets and people is realized through lifesaving programs and services, community resources and educational opportunities.

During the volunteer event, a group of nearly 20 team members assisted around the store and in the dog kennels. Team members priced, stocked and organized the retail space, as well as helped break down an area utilized for adoption events. Another group organized and cleaned supplies while also distributing enrichment treats to dogs in the shelter.

Later this month, Ameristar Kansas City team members will be back for another volunteer event, proving that there’s always time to make an impact.
